In 2007 we have broadened our horizons and entered competitions outside of the local area, resulting in a half hour television programme dedicated to our site on UKTV Gardens.

We are lucky here at Longbarrow to have a wide cross section of knowledge and experience amongst our membership. This includes  people that share their advice publicly through regular spots in the local media, national competition winners, and members that enjoy personal success through experience in a particular area or general allotment growing.

By taking part in this type of competition we hope our own techniques will improve as well as helping to continue the increased interest and popularity enjoyed by allotments across the country at this time.

Although we did not win the competition, it has inspired us to change and improve the ways we think and garden, with an eye to future challenges.
